Foster River Ranch is a sanctuary for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. The ranch is licensed for 105 children to live full time and thousands have been placed through both foster care and adoption! It keeps siblings together, preventing the trauma of separation that often occurs in the foster care system.
Foster River Ranch offers a safe and peaceful setting that contrasts with the disruptive and abusive environments the children have previously experienced. This provides a space for the children to engage in innocent and joyful activities, fostering an atmosphere of play and exploration. At the ranch some of the favorite activities are basketball, football, baseball, volleyball and soccer too! Most of the kids have never had the opportunity to play a sport and at the ranch there is space for everyone and all are included. Every child is recognized and encouraged in their individual gifts and talents which may also include music, art and much more!

The ranch’s horse rescue program serves as a dual-purpose initiative, benefiting both the animals and the children. Through interactions with horses and other animals, the children learn valuable skills such as empathy, responsibility, and trust. Equine therapy has been shown to be effective in helping individuals overcome trauma and build self-confidence. Other farm animal rescues adds to the holistic experience, allowing the children to connect with various animals while learning about compassion and care.
Keeping Siblings Together
One of the unique aspects of Foster River Ranch is its commitment to keeping siblings together. In many cases, children who have been removed from abusive or neglectful situations are traumatized further separated from their siblings when placed in foster care. However, at Foster River Ranch, siblings of all ages are given the opportunity to stay together, offering them a sense of stability and continuity during a tumultuous time in their lives. This approach not only supports the emotional bond between siblings but also contributes to their overall sense of security and well-being.

When I was a young girl God placed a huge dream in my heart. As the President and Founder of our foster care and adoption agency, emergency shelters, children’s homes/ranches, retreat centers plus animal rescues in several states I can definitely say that that dream has been realized and we are continuing to expand our vision and impact! We have placed over 6000 children and that is amazing! Our largest ranch is 156 acres on the San Marcos river. We are excited to announce that we opened two new houses in 2022 bringing our capacity to 105 children who can live there full-time. It’s also an amazing camp and support for our foster or adopt families and their children in Texas.I can personally attest to the blood, sweat, and tears my family and I, along with our dedicated staff have given.
